TEXTILE AND WEDDING
This room shows changing fashion over the late 19th
and early 20th centuries and comes from the Loretta
Quirk collection (a local socialite). It comprises 140
pieces of clothing being part of her trousseau.
It was never worn as her fiance was tragically
killed in World War 1.
The collection includes excellent examples
of embroidery and lace of interest to embroiderers.
Most of the lacework is handmade.
